About

About Lead the Way

A Texas small business founded to honor a 31-year Army legacy, built to deliver IT, data, test and logistics support to defense programs.

Our story

Lead the Way Logistics & IT LLC was founded to honor the legacy of my late father, CW4 (Ret.) Luis Bonilla, who served 31 years in the United States Army. An Airborne Ranger and Special Forces Soldier, he led with quiet professionalism and an uncompromising standard of excellence, and was recognized with the Legion of Merit for exceptionally meritorious service upon retirement.

That legacy is our operating standard. Our mission is simple: Warfighter First, delivering dependable logistics and IT support that strengthens readiness, speeds decision-making, and performs in the realities of a contested logistics environment.

Our “Lead the Way” approach derives from “Rangers Lead the Way.” More than a motto, it is a discipline, a mindset, and a way of life.

— Joe Bonilla, Founder

Our standard

Warfighter First. Battle-Ready. Always.

The company

Who We Are

Lead the Way Logistics & IT LLC is a Texas small business, formed in December 2024, providing IT modernization, software engineering, data analytics, test and evaluation, and logistics support to defense and federal customers. We work as a subcontractor and teaming partner to primes, with a focus on the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), Missile Defense Agency (MDA), and the developmental and operational test and evaluation (DT&E and OT&E) community.

The founder

Field to Backlog to Enterprise

Our founder spent roughly two decades in Army operational test and evaluation, including serving as Project Lead for the Army Integrated Air and Missile Defense IOT&E, a Major Defense Acquisition Program. He then moved to the delivery side, leading Agile software development and sustainment on DLA FedMall, and has continued in DoD IT modernization since.

The company has not yet performed a federal contract. This is our founder’s professional experience with prior employers, not corporate past performance.
